CancerCare for Kids^®

Children and teens who are affected by cancer have special needs and concerns. That’s why CancerCare has a special program called CancerCare for Kids^®. It’s all part of the free, professional services CancerCare provides, but focused on the particular needs of children and parents.

We offer practical support, education and advice to parents, and counseling to children and teens to help them understand cancer. Families who live near a CancerCare office may also participate in our therapeutic recreational events that teach children and parents how to talk to each other about cancer.

As always, CancerCare for Kids^® services are provided free. We offer services in both English and Spanish.

• CancerCare Counseling™: Professional counseling is offered for children, teens and parents in three different ways – online, on the telephone, and face-to-face. All of our support groups are moderated by professional oncology social workers.

• CancerCare Connect^®: Our telephone education workshops and publications connect cancer experts from around the country to families affected by cancer. Experts discuss topics important to you, including advances in treatment, managing side effects and symptoms, and finding support. We also offer the following booklet: Helping Children When a Family Member Has Cancer.
